I got a JX3 recently. Spent today setting it up. I have it all set up to pack my gear. I climbed several times with it and can get all hooked up and comfy.

Here's my issue. Any advice is appreciated.

It's really hard for me to move around the tree. The tether wants to pull me back to my original position. I'm only using the top of my sticks, my legs, and the Y bracket to try to hold position (no platform or ROS). Even pushing off the stick it's hard to hold position. If I just use the Y bracket I can never hold it in place.

Am I making a rookie error somewhere?

Yeah I had it high. It was the lean. The tree had a slight lean. I didnt realize how much that affects this. Thx.

Yeah any tree lean will make it harder to move around the tree in any type of saddle. If you move the top tether
position around the tree in the direction you would most like to pivot it will make it easier to move in that direction.
