This coming season will be my first and I’m all set besides a few things:

one item that’s wearing on my mind is if I need aback line on my bridge/teather.

I have the latitude Method 2 brand new. Anyone run and extra safety line in case the bridge snaps? Idk even why I’m thinking this right now.

I run a Method 2 as well, the thought of the bridge snapping has never crossed my mind. You really have no reason not to trust the strength and durability of that thickness of Amsteel. For all the sometimes sketchy stuff saddle hunters do with their setups, the bridge breaking on you really isn’t one of them. In my opinion, when used correctly there’s no safer way to hunt in a tree than saddle hunting.

It sounds like you need to build some confidence in your setup. I would recommend spending some time at very low heights (like 1 foot off the ground) practicing in your yard wearing your saddle. Get used to it. Spin around the tree, try to put yourself in awkward positions.

I trust in time that you’ll really gain confidence in your equipment and be comfortable at hunting heights.

Many of us, probably most of us had to learn to trust a cord the size of our pinky. It’s not weird at all…..then again maybe we are all weird. I like redundancy, like a hitch in case of a mechanical failure. But if you are using proper equipment properly, you’ll never fall, it’s merely impossible.
