I’m a bit afraid to know what “sex of Velcro” is. Lol
Just wait til you have to do some plumbing. "Laying pipe" jokes aside, there's a lot of nipples and such involved.

Looks good red, interested to hear how the adhesive holds up for ya long term, I haven't had a ton of success getting it to stick to stuff after repeated use, but perhaps sticking to itself is the ticket.

I’ve got a couple of small zipper pouches that I keep on my bino harness for my rangefinder and other stuff. I hate the zippers and was thinking about adding some Velcro straps or maybe even magnetic closures. The zippers are a two handed operation and not very practical.

I use recycled tire inner tubes to create 1/2" inch strips. Double it over the main strap and make it one-finger tight. Roll up the free-running end and slip the rubber strip over the roll and you're good to go. I'd stay away from Velcro because of the noise.

Inner tubes are a great DIY resource. All sorts of things you can do with custom-width heavy-duty rubber bands.
