So I live in Calhoun, GA. North of Atlanta and south of Chattanooga. There’s multiple “bow shops” nearby and Im Sure they’re good. But this is my experience. So I bought a VXR from a local shop/dealer. They got it “set up” And it was close, probably “good enough to hunt with”. But this being my first brand new bow that I’ve purchased for me I wanted it to be perfect. After hours of YouTube videos And forums, I still couldn’t get the arrow to fly perfect every shot and was getting pissed off. Is it the bow? Is it my form? Probably a solid combo of both.

Anyways, I did some research on quality bow shops to take it to and just get it looked at. I found Sam Bows Archery in the small town of ILA, GA (just north of athens). He is open Monday through Friday cause he shots ASA tourneys most weekends. The problem is I live about 2.5 hours from there and work so making it during the week just wasnt an option. luckily my folks bought a farm about 10 minutes from there and I was able to convince him to meet me up there this morning and look at my bow setup, form, or inform me it was right and good to go. Long story short, this fella met me at his shop on his day off and took the time to make sure that my setup was flying true and my form was corrected for this bow. He is a younger guy who happens to shoot for team Mathews, and knows his stuff And a really great person. Got me fixed up in no time and shot the bull for an additional hour.

So, if you’re in where near north Georgia and need a good, quality shop that isn’t going to just punch your equipment out and say its done then check him out. He takes pride in his work and really know the Mathews line along with others. Plus his pricing in his shop is extremely competitive. I highly highly recommend letting him do your work for those that dont do it themselves.
