Before I take the plunge and drop $120 on a custom ultra light stick from DanO, I wanted to give this climbing method a try. Farm and Fleet has a simple stick for $20. To those who use this climbing method, would this stick work to try it out or do you see me wasting my money?

Just for testing to see if you like it, that is fine. Will be a little clunky compared to others, but will give you an idea of whether the concept is good to you.

That's what I used to see if I liked one-sticking and then I bought a muddy pro!

Tried it out this past weekend and I won’t be looking back. I have never felt so secure while climbing not to mention being able to go to any height I want. Will be selling my 5 stepps to hopefully fund my new ultra light climbing stick. Thanks for the feedback gents!

If you like one sticking, try it with rappelling for decent. I am sold 110% on it, and the cost really isn't too bad (relatively speaking I guess).
