Platform instead of steps

I bought a set of 12 bullmans plus the 6 steps on a ratchet strap for the platform but am just not happy with them. I practiced today with using the platform from my climber. I was up the tree and tethered into place in less than 3 minutes. It still takes me close to 10 minutes using the other gear. So, i think im gonna stick with the platform for now. Anyone else have issues?
 
All of my climbing methods took time to get good at, and speed up setup. Having said that, I normally take around 10 minutes anyway, as I like to go slow to prevent any chance of noise...
 
I went away from saddle hunting about 2010 due to not caring for the 'ring of steps', among other things. Found this site and realized a small platform was doable. Then came the Predator and decided this would take care of some of the issues I had with saddle hunting in the past - I'm waiting for my Mantis now....I'm thinking the platform is the way to go....
