I’m considering which method to use for attaching sticks to tree. I’ve done the 8mm rope mods on XOPs the last 2 seasons but not happy with the stretch/sag and tendecy to kick out on larger diameter trees. Should I make some Amsteel Daisy Chain or just buy some Versastrap lite when Tethrd has them available?
Thanks

If you're using 8mm static rope, you'll have less than 3% elongation in most cases. Which ends up being about the same distance as "going to the next loop" with daisy chain. You won't get it any "tighter" to the tree in that sense, but there are other potential advantages to the daisy chains over rope. Kickout is not going to change with the type connection material.

Hmmm I thought there’d be more opinions on this. I was using 8mm accessory cord which is probably why I got so much elongation. I didn’t know any better at the time or that static rope would be that much better. Now I’m really thinking the convenience of either the amsteel daisy chain or the Versastrap sewn loops will make for easier stick hanging experience. Currently it seems the Versastrap has the advantage of wrapping nicely on the stick and having the elastic loop to hook onto the versa button. I imagine the amsteel is lighter and potentially quieter. I can make my own amsteel daisy chain for all my sticks for ~$30 which is appealing. What are the other advantages/disadvantages of each?
