So got my Kestral, and finally got to play with it out in the yard a little. I had this thought a while ago about using this old "seat a tree" that's been kicking around the garage. I tried it out some. Might not be a bad option for all day rut seats. Adds another option to maybe help relieve pressure for a while. The cons being something extra to carry in. The only down fall to this one is the plastic is noisy. But I see you can buy some newer version of these. Might think about it if I like it. Anyone else use anything similar?

A hybrid would address the issue, and be no more bulky than carrying a kestrel, platform, and that thing.

That said, quite a few folks use a hang on and saddle combo. Same concept.

That is a bad blast from the past! There is one of those laying at the base of a tree near Edgefield, SC, from 25+ years ago I left behind after the first use. I used it with a Baker stand, with no safety harness or any backup. Should have left the Baker with it.
