The adjusting screw was a PITA all last fall, I even started taking a wrench along. So for this season I was going to machine a wheel so it could be turned easier even with gloves on. I started to setup to make the wheel this morning and I thought why not just a roll pen. To my surprise it works great (even with heavy gloves) and just about anyone could do it. So if anyone has had this trouble here’s an pic.

Very nice...mine is really stiff since I had it hydrodipped

What, you just drilled it??

I took the screw out and drill it with a drill press (you can use a hand drill just as easy) and used a 5/32 x 1 inch roll pin or smaller. I don’t know why they didn’t do this to begin with because the roll pin lets you make adjustments extremely easily with or without gloves on. You don’t have to take the nut off if you don’t want to. Just drill thru the nut and bolt and install the roll pin. Just remember to keep the roll pin on the small size.
