New to saddle hunting and havent gotten everything yet. I will be rappelling down and using the SRT method to climb up. Was wondering if the madrock lifeguard and predator rope would work good together. Or if there is another combination of ascender and rope that would be better suited for SRT and rappelling. Also, should i use a seperate rope for a tether or will my rappel rope work for it? And yes, i will be using an autoblock or another type of cinching knot (sorry cant think of what those are called at the moment). Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Also, a good place to buy them from would be appreciated as well. Thanks everyone!

I prefer the Madrock Safeguard to the Lifeguard for our purposes. The lack of a return spring makes the Safeguard a safer "work positioning" device while the Lifeguard is better suited as a belay device. I've owned both and really wasn't comfortable on the Lifeguard. The return spring can (and will) open the cam if tension is removed.

Both devices work okay with predator rope. Its not my first choice but I do have a Predator rappel line I use somewhat frequently and it works okay with either the Lifeguard or Safeguard.

Edit: I have bought them directly from Madrock in the past.
