Just curious how you guys are getting you platform up the tree with you.
Are you pulling it up by a rope? Hanging off your saddle as you climb?
In a pack on your back?

My first hunt from a saddle the other night, I hooked it to my mantis and climbed with it hanging off the back. It felt like it was pulling my pants down the whole time.

I dont think having in a pack as I climb would be very convenient.

Thinking a pull rope might be the answer, but that is just one more thing to tangle up.

Thoughts?

BTW, the first hunt was a success too. I

When using the predator I don’t wear knee pads. I use the cushion that came with my xop hand climber. I attach thread to the tree with paracord and a cam jam. I use the predator strap to attach the predator to the pad. I use the paracord to carry the pad and predator over my shoulder messenger bag style. Cushion is toward me predator faces out. Its comfortable and the padding keeps the predator from bumping carabiners on my side.

Never thought of using the strap to sling it over my shoulder.

I was climbing with 4 modified helium sticks. Had two hanging from the saddle as well as predator.

I have a direct action-ghost.

I sandwich the Predator between the main pack and the outer pack. My sticks are attached to the outer pack. I take the sticks off once I get to the tree and take off the outer pack and attach the Predator to the outer pack/bag. That is what goes with me into the tree. It keeps my water, food, calls etc for the hunt. Main pack, I will keep extra clothes etc. that stays at the base of the tree.

I set the first two sticks from the ground. Then use the strap/rope for the remaining two sticks and that goes over the shoulder.

Most sticks do not lock together. I use the nite ties to do so. That way I do not have to make multiple trips up and down the tree. It also helps from having the saddle being pulled down as you climb.

I hang my platform from the Molle loops on my Kite. Using sticks with single aiders sewn on bottom step I set my first stick and hang an additional stick in each bridge loop to set as I climb. When I reach the top of third stick I set my platform beneath lineman’s rope.
