When I get my Mantis, plan to leave the stock 30 inch bridge as is, but thinking of adding a second shorter bridge as well. Prefer not to use any caribiners for this, just tie in on both ends. What is your preferred knot if you also do this (figure 8 or just a single or double fishermans knot? This second bridge is not for rappelling, will have a seperate 12 inch loop for that.

Does that mean you will have 3 ropes in that area going across your waist?

Figure 8 seems like the "standard" from a safety perspective....(at least on the rock climbing videos I've watched)

@cb750 No just two, at least untll I decide what works best for me through experience. The loop for rappel (backup to steps), I would keep in a pouch, just a 12 inch loop as was talked about in other threads. Going to be a while until I get the Mantis, but while I am waiting, I now have my ATC XL, riggers belt, carebiners, rope dedicated for rappel, and Sterling Hollow block for ATC backup, good time to start practicing how to rappel out back (or in the basement) at only a few feet up.
