Was at Sportsman Warehouse, was looking at Lacrosse Alpha Burly boots. Next display over was the MUCK boots.
Started looking and what caught my eye were the Artic Pro and Artic Sport. Man these are sweet looking boots, expensive
but look and feel is impressive. Did not have a chance to try on. Anyone have either of these - thoughts?
Kind of favored the Sports, little lighter and two inches shorter. Both look like they would be very warm.
Always been a Lacrosse guy but these got me thinking. I'm due for a new pair to replace my old Lacrosse's.

I have the arctic pro. Got them three years ago. For a rubber boot, they are pretty comfortable to walk in. While moving, they are very warm, but do not breathe and feet will begin to sweat with a longer walk. While stationary, I find them to be no where near as warm as what their rating is. My feet stay warmer for longer in my light 400g (non-rubber) irish setters. I have changed to a fresh pair of socks and even used heated insoles, but feet would ALWAYS get cold after a couple hours. The only time I use them hunting now is if I'm going through a lot of very wet snow, and then I change to a different boot once at my location. I was pretty disappointed in them considering I paid $150 for what now is basically yard chore boots

I have the arctic pro’s. I used them fall/winter 2019.

Pro’s:
•comfort
•waterproof

Cons:
•feet sweat hiking in
•feet freeze in tree (even when they don’t sweat)

This year I tried a lightweight GTX hiking boot (more like a trail runner) and Arctic Shield boot covers. Huge improvement over the muck arctic pros from my experience. I used hand warmers both years and find them necessary on long sits when it’s really cold.

*If you primarily hunt deep wet snow or marsh I could see the mucks being a better choice.

Ok. I don't sweat hardly in heat of summer so that is a non issue. They just get cold super easy.

Even with hand warmers in my mucks my feet get cold. I’m sold on the boot blankets. I’ve been told they aren’t nearly as effective over rubber boots which makes sense.

I've got an old pair of the ICE Breaker boot covers, they are old but like new. Maybe it's time to look for a non-rubber type of boot.

I had many years of warm feet using an old Rocky boot. They were leather and shrunk being to close to a heater. Recent reviews suggest their quality isnt what it once was. I just ordered a pair of Baffin boots. Not a fan of rubber boots in cold weather.
