Quick question about using this as accessory cord?

Hi all,
Just a quick question as I found this cord at my local REI and was wondering if it was safe to use for accessory line?

Thought was to cut it and tie into a few prusik loops and make some distel hitches for the harness. Any thoughts? I am new enough that I don't trust myself to spot a major problem with equipment yet. Thanks for any help!

I'd say no to anything life dependency on. It is 7.3 kN and that is only 1642lbs ibs (indvidual breaking strength). Personally, (take this with a grain of salt) I would use it for making a daisy chain you can hang gear, bow, pack etc. For me I want to have my distel hitch or prussic cordage to have at minimum 3000lbs or 14kN. How to determine the kN of a rope is you multipy by 225lbs. 14x225 lbs = 3150 lbs.

I agree with Newhunter1, buy a rope designed specifically for the purpose intended. Lineman/tether is not something to make out of what is laying around.
