i hunt in the rain and the fog.14 years of carrying range finders and havent used one to harvest game.they dont do anything in these conditions.had 2 halos 2 bushnells and a nicon500.none of them work. the weather killed each one.it rains a little in oregon.after waisting 1000 dollars im not buying another .i already been got for my scrill tickets.could have got a quarter cow from a local farmer 3 years in a row with that.my top pin on my monster is 40.with a 440 grain arrow at 300 feet a second cronoed.and i only shoot top pin when hunting.my presets i measure on google earth to 30 yards or less.and in western oregon if i can see it its tipically 17 yards due to visibility through brush and shooting lanes.as a rifle hunter my dads average harvest was 17 yards.frees up a pocket cuzz im done.

I have started to use them more. However, I find it useful to range shooting lanes, trees, and other landmarks ahead of time and know the yardage should a deer come into them - rather than ranging in the moment.
thats all i used them for..no harvests using one though.1000,dallars is exspencive for not filling a tag with one.if i dont buy another, i will need one ofcourse
