I hate having my rangefinder around my neck especially hanging around my bridge. I want to keep it handy though. Who has a good solution? Perhaps a retractable tether that pins or clips to your jacket?
The other part of this is a cover that keeps rain and snow off the rangefinder eyepiece when it's hanging idle. Let me know your solutions. Thanks in advance.

If you're in a saddle you can screw in a $1 bow holder to the side and hang it on it. I hang mine on the same hanger as my pack once the pack is hung.

I've been using the G2 gear hanger and an S biner. I really like this setup. I haven't thought about the rain issue yet though....Maybe you could put a piece of cellophane over the eyepiece and rubber band it on. Wouldn't even have to take the cellophane off to view through it?? Now that I think about it...the cellophane would have water droplets on it though.

Nikon makes a retractable tether and neoprene case that pretty much does what you are looking to do. It covers the output side of the rangefinder unit anyway with a magnetic closure.

I use a ribzwear front pack. I got one in camo a couple of years ago. They only have black now but im sure ray has a new camo in the works.

I’ll post some pics of mine tomorrow. I made one out of paracord that is adjustable and it isn’t in the way of the bridge.

Reminder to post pics. Thanks

@PJC I tried to post a video but I think you get the idea from the pics. I made it adjustable to take into account layers of clothing. And as far as you not liking it hanging around your neck you will not get that feeling with this. It stays right to your side and doesn’t feel like it’s dangling.

Thanks. Simple enough.
