New to saddle hunting and question on repel rope. I have a HSS lifeline brand new that I was thinking of using as a repel rope. Has anyone tried this or think that rope will work? I can’t find any specs on it.

Not being able to find the specs( knowing what they are) would keep me from using it. I'm not super familiar with that rope but I think it has a soft sheath. I understand wanting to save some money and reusing what you already have, but do you think your rappel line is a good place to do that?

I’d second what Kurt says. If you buy a high quality rappelling line it will last you many seasons if properly cared for and you won’t have any question about the safety of it.

I tried it a couple of times from really low heights (6-7 feet up) & even with a regular belay device (non locking) the rope began to fray & melt a little from the friction. The fraying seemed to only occur on the reflective braid running through the line, but it was definitely enough for me to say it was a no go for that rope.
I ended up getting a leftover cutoff from Edelrid.
