So I got my speedy stitcher and been working with some webbing. Has anyone concerned using a small section on tubular webbing as a retention band to cinch a loop down?

Looks good to me. You could always throw a rubber band over it if you need more friction. It may hold well enough as is. Is this a knaider/swaider project?

It sure is. Started on it today, but still waiting on some buckles to arrive.
