I would like to know what size rope to use for rope mods on Hawk helium climbing sticks with the Versa buttons that come installed on the helium sticks

1/8" Amsteel daisy chain rope is super easy to use and plenty strong. I ditched the stock buttons (and suction cups) and made new buttons with fender washers, .350 thick aluminum spacer and 5/16" bolt. Makes for very close stacking and less weightSticks.jpg. The attached photo shows the cut down sticks without the ropes but they stack just as close together with the ropes on. The sticks nest together very solidly with zero clanking or rattling.

I used the 1/4” Amsteel. I believe I ordered them in 8 or 9’ sections. Then spliced them per G2 Outdoor’s video to go over the button.

Most guys use 1/4” amsteel blue or 8mm climbing rope

7mm rope stretches a little to much for most people
