Rotating head on thumb release. Does it matter?

I recently switched to a thumb release. I bought a 4 finger hook release basically because its all they had in my price range and I just wanted to try a thumb release. Now that Ive been shooting it a bit I know exactly what I want and Im shopping. Without a rotating head a thumb release will twist up your d loop a bit but I see alot of high end thumb releases dont have a rotating head to keep the caliper from twisting your D loop. So...is a rotating head a gimmick or purposeful?

I’ve shot both, tru ball has them and my hot shot does not. I haven’t noticed a difference in accuracy or binding and the shop i go to said the same thing.

With a d-loop that's too short it could introduce an unnatural torque, but for the majority of people with a proper size d-loop it shouldn't be an issue

I've got a Carter's without and a Tru-Ball with. Cant' tell a difference except the Tru-Ball squeaks, right in my ear, during my trigger press. Since it's during the trigger press I'm sure the rotating mechanism isn't making any noise, and I've got to lubricate the sear, somehow. Any suggestions?
