Where can you buy amsteel?
I think DanO on here sells it, Dutchware, amazon, etc. For the 7/64 and 1/8 amsteel I ordered a paracord fid kit for like 7 or 8 dollars off of Amazon. It worked pretty well. Lot of other things you can buy and modify to use for fids as well. Plenty of Youtube videos out there that shows you how to work with it. I built some daisy chains for my sticks out of 7/64 and for my platform out of 1/8. I also built gear hangers for my son and I out of the left over 7/64. Once you get on to working with the amsteel it is pretty easy to do. It is tough to cut though.

Dutchware and Dano/Eastern Outdoors are awesome for Amsteel.

Knitting needles and stiff wire make great cheap DIY splicing tools as well if you don't want/need the Samson splicing kit

Hanging here waiting for the deer to show up I was pondering the benefits of the DIY Seat platform. Unless you have the seat already, it will cost more than a podium and I can’t imagine the seat platform outperforming the podium in any category. Perhaps it will pack better but not by much. Meanwhile i am loving my Podium after acquiring it mid season. Wish it packed better but in the tree it’s all worth it
