I have access to this rope which is made for and marketed to boat racers but the specs look like it may work find for a tether and linemans belt. The 7/16" rope has an average tensile strength of 9,500 lbs. Am I missing anything here?

SAMSON ROPE MLX Innegra™-S/Dyneema® Blended Core Double Braid

This rope is designed for the club racer but is also suitable for the performance-oriented cruiser. MLX is a double-braid construction that incorporates a first-of-its-kind core with a polyester cover. The unique core is a blend of an exclusive fiber, Innegra™ S, a high-modulus polypropylene (HMPP), and Dyneema®, a high-modulus polyethylene (HMPE) that's only available through Samson. This line bridges the performance characteristics and price tags of traditional synthetic fibers, such as nylon and polyester, and high-performance synthetic fibers, such as Technora®, Dyneema®, and Vectran®.

MLX is a lightweight, core-dependent line that has excellent strength and low stretch. The core is Samthane™-coated to match the color of the cover, making the line strippable for greater weight savings

Features:
  • Innegra™ S / Dyneema® blend core fiber
  • 24-Strand cover of solution-dyed polyester
  • Core-dependent double braid
  • High strength
  • Low stretch
  • Splicing - Class II double braid
  • Colors - White, Black, Red, or Green

Applications:
  • Recreational running rigging
  • Halyards
  • Spinnaker sheets
  • Mainsheets
  • Jib/genoa sheets
  • Control lines

Note: When splicing, use a Double Braid, Core-Dependent Splice, which will allow optimum utilization of the breaking loads.
