The SH Membership has gone live. Only SH Members have access to post in the classifieds. All members can view the classifieds. Starting in 2020 only SH Members will be admitted to the annual hunting contest. Current members will need to follow these steps to upgrade: 1. Click on your username 2. Click on Account upgrades 3. Choose SH Member and purchase.

I don't think you can use amsteel for regular rope mod though...too slick right? You have to daisychain it or ucr/whoopie
yeah, I agree about the slickness. I used a UCR. Worked fine.
UCR may just be a whoopee sling, just what some guy on AT called them when he sold them. Never got one so I have no idea what it is, but I know he made them out of amsteel. Utility Constricting rope or something....prob just something he made up to describe a whoopie now that I listen to it
Respect though, he was the first to rope mod or at least bring to the masses' attention
Daisy chain is probably superior though if you are using a versa button. you can go really small diameter amsteel which = light

IMO the daisy chain option is a better one. Knots can drastically reduce the strength of amsteel. Without specific testing I'm leery of the rope mod with amsteel.
UCR is different than a whoopie. UCR has 2 ropes, 1 sliding through the other. A whoopie sling is 1 rope sliding back through itself. UCR is slightly easier to adjust.
