Sleeping hogs

About peed my pants when I realized I was two yards or less from a sleeping hog…backed away to see if it was dead or sleeping….no movement. Snuck back up, yup breathing….backed up again…threw a stick to get it up (couldn’t get a shot where it was laying)…nothing, threw 2x more, nothing. Whistled, nothing. Finally got tired of waiting and coughed. Head up! Head down…. Immediately coughed again and it finally got up and groggily sauntered away…bungled the shot and lost an arrow…got the ol ticker going tho!

That looks south eastern. SC FL or coastal GA ish.

Did NJ end bear hunting on private property too this year? Thought I read that they banned bear hunting statewide public and private.
 
I walked up on one like that. I thought it was dead and all of sudden it wasn’t then the whole woods were full of running hogs lol.
