Where can I buy a double spliced 1/4" amsteel blue 30" long for a bridge for my guidos web. I want to replace the original tree tether strap that it came with.
The original belt is heavy and loud in pine trees, which is pretty much all we have here in Florida. I was hoping to get my new Mantis Saddle but may not get it for our Sept. 15th opener here. I looked at a few saddle sites but did not see any pre spliced bridges for sale. I only gun hunt out of the Guidos Web because it's kind of hot to bow hunt out of but I am going all out saddle hunting from now on, tired of lugging lock on stands and climbing stands all over. Any suggestions on where I can get a double spliced bridge would be appreciated.

I am in the same boat at you, just bought a Guidos Web from this site while I wait for the mantis. I just bought all the stuff to make a bridge from 1/4" amsteel. Plenty of videos online that show how to make them. Just waiting for supplies. How did you determine a 30" bridge? I have not figured out what length to make.

I used rope from a HSS tree tether. Started with 30” but that was a bit long. Ended up with a 24” bridge which seemed to work pretty well with the guidos web. Wanted to use amsteel but did not want to mess around trying to slice the end loops. Still hoping my mantis makes it here though!

I found 1/4" Amsteel blue on amazon at a good price. I would highly recommend splicing the rope to save on bulk and strength. It's very easy to do yourself. I watched @g2outdoors splicing video and was able to splice my rope using a mechanical pencil for the fid and used a length of electrical wire for a looped wire puller. Worked awesome to make my bridge and was able to bury a longer length so if I want later I can always go back and make my bridge longer. Hope you try it and not give up on the amsteel. Happy hunting and good luck.

Brilliant! I was about to purchase some of those homemade ones he recommended in that video. Thanks for the idea!

It was the only thing I had lying around the house that was the right shape and easy to take apart (pliers to the eraser end and I pulled all the guts out of the pencil easily) lol

How long are you making the bury? I made a loop and with the recommended bury of 10-11" the bridge is a little longer than I wanted. The buries end within an inch or two from each other.

I made a 28" bridge and made my locked in bury 8-10" the other end I pulled through all the way to the locked in bury and pulled it out past the locked bury about 3/4" then cut it with about 3/4" sticking out. I milked the rope back over it the best I could and stitch locked it in with the orange cord. After working the rope with my weight on the caribiner it pulled the last 3/4" that was sticking out mostly inside. This way it's a solid line without the need to taper the ends so there's no bump when sliding from hip to hip. Also if for some reason later on I want to make my bridge longer I can cut the stitches and pull the loop out to my desired length and re-stitch. The issue with that would be a blunt end that's not tapered which would make shifting your hips a little bumpier.

-I've tried attaching a pic but it's saying file is too large.

I started out splicing Lash-it and 7/64 amsteel for hammock camping. Splicing 1/4 amsteel is a breeze after doing it with the small stuff!

I do it mostly with jewelry wire to pull the ends and a pen to wallow out an opening in the amsteel.
