Which do you prefer & why?

I’ve got plenty of good rope...all is single braid with 16 core strands.
I’m good on all the knots I need to know but was watching some you tube vids on eye splicing both single braid & double braided ropes.
I’ve even successfully completed an eye-splice on the single braided rope BUT My OCD is triggered by the eye portion not having any core strands.
It seems strong enough, I just need convincing.
Anyone using the single braided eye-splice on their tetherd#?

Agreed. Amsteel is very easy to splice. I'm coming over to the saddle world just now, but have made a ton (well, ounces...) of gear for my hammock stuff as well as sailing gear. Slices are far less bulky and easier to inspect for safety. For small stuff, instead of a fid, I use a folded piece of seizing wire to feed through the "core", then pull the line back similar to using a needle threader. Have fun!
