It's been warm today and the stick bugs are trying to sneak in the house with the windows up. One got me through a Kleenex, so I decided to have some fun.

Tried Dead Down Wind, Decode, and HS brand sprays in that order, allowing each to dry. Very little reduction even after all three. Then I found some Febreze Free Nature spray the wife has and it knocked it WAY down, but not out. Stuck my hand inside an Under Armour shirt, still a very faint whiff. Put my hand in my ScentLok facemask, no smell.

Does it prove anything for deer? Not really, but I will stop using other sprays and start using the cheaper Febreze from now on and keep using the Scentlok on my midwest hunts. I also tried the Febreze on a pair of my teenage son's shoes and it did an amazing job there too.

So, Febreeze has a non perfume version now? Man, I hate all that perfumed crap.
BTW, several years ago, I had some DDW spray that wasn't working. I contacted DDW and was told there was a shelf life to the stuff. They sent me fresh stuff, but I'm not sure it killed odor any better, but according to DDW, sprays DO go bad.

All of the sprays were purchased in November of this year, but could have been on the store shelves much longer. My wife just said that Febreze is way over a year old! I looked it up online and sells for $5 @ wally world.

I wonder how the ingredients compare between Febreeze and "hunting" sprays? What is so different about Febreeze? Concentration? Or maybe a different chemical that hunting sprays don't have?

The ingredients on label says water, alcohol, and ingredients derived from corn, that is all. I doubt it does anything to inhibit bacteria growth beyond the initial alcohol kill, but I will try it in the woods this fall and on my mtn bike gear all spring and summer for testing.

I don't know what goes into febreze. But I don't let my wife use it. It sets my sinuses off bad.

Me too, but this is unscented and does not trigger my allergies.
