I have access to a bunch of cloth "Lashing" material that is stamped with a 5,100# rating that I currently use, in conjunction with the associated buckles, to fasten my DIY steps to the tree. It measures 1.1875" wide and the only thing I hate is that it is white, I even tried dying it with trappers dye but it faded fast in the woods. It is used for lashing heavy items in land and sea containers to keep loads from shifting. It is NOT the plastic strapping. Has anyone else come across this stuff and used it?? Thinking of using it for a DIY preachers/Tree suit build as the bridge, but it would be doubled in my concept...……..

Hey man, this sounds awesome. I want to try it, would you get rid of some if you have a bunch?

We have a bunch that gets tossed at work. I've thought the same thing. Might as well put it to work. We're supposed to be tied off to the tree when we're climbing anyways, right? Just hard to say how long it's been in the elements though and if the weight rating would still apply.
