Strapping Sticks to Molle Grid

Ok so I was off base on the application but given the fact that it’s Heliums on a pack , I would just go simple & use a long nite-ize top & bottom just do a pair on each side......

I have cut down helium sticks and mini versa straps. I'm not wild about trying to open the loops to fit them over my diy versa button on the sticks when hanging them on a tree - but the straps EXCEL at tying the sticks onto my pack with slip-knots (the material is pretty slick for pulling the knot out).

It takes some setup time - and I don't re-tie them the same way when I'm packing back out - but on the way in, if prepped with slipknots, and versa strap ends where I can reach them, I can usually yank on the end of a versa strap to untie the slip-knot holding my stick on to my pack, it falls off, then I pull it up by the strap and attach it - and I never have to take my backpack off.

Only done it a couple times and it takes some experimenting to get a knot that holds the stick on tight, and where to leave the end so you can reach it and yank it loose (I've been leaving the slack hanging over my shoulder strap so they're easy to get to), but it IS smooove when it works right.

Whether you use them for this application or not (and I do), long releasable zipties are handy as heck. I always have a half dozen hanging on my pack somewhere.

Been using these spring loaded buckles/straps that were originally on my Kuiu Icon Pro 1850. I’m using them on my Kifaru Door Gunner as well. At about 1:42 in the video you see the bottom pals webbing under the Door Gunner and how the straps attach.
