Does anyone have a way to keep body order out of your back pack straps/ padded back?
I have 2 tenzing 2200 and I wash them, but after each trip they smell like a boys locker room. Heat here is 95 + and high humidity

Maybe u could try treating with camp dry or whatever waterproofing aerosol silicone spray.

If I need to wash I fill up a tub with water add baking soda and vinegar. Soak and agitate till I think it's clean and hang it up till dry. Honestly I never cleaned except for blood stain. I'm sure my stuff stinks but so do I. No getting around that fact where I live

Nothing you can do to make any difference besides (if you believe in it) 100% isolation from human scent at all times. Which means getting it scent free to start, keeping it that way in totes, your car, etc, then having a barrier between your skin and the pack at all times. Which, if you live somewhere where walking with a pack makes you sweat, Will prove quite difficult.

If you’re having to ask the question, the answer is probably nothing you can do.

Good ol Borax. I fill a tub with warm water and put packs, saddles, etc. in there and pour in alot of Borax washing detergent. It has no scent and you will be amazed at the grime that comes out of packs.

I basically do the same thing but with sportwash non scented detergent. The borax is a great idea.

If your pack is smelling like an old work out t-shirt, put the pack In a tub or cooler…add HOT water with white distilled vinegar. Soak it and let it sit a while. Then dry the pack completely. In the HOT sun or even dryer if you can. Once completely dry, put the pack back in a tub or cooler with All Free detergent and warm/cool water and soak. You might have to do this twice. Once done, air dry thoroughly and spray. Now that the smell is out, after each hunt spray your pack with scent free spray and hang so it dries. Good luck!

Put on a chicken suit before hiking in. Will keep the scent off your backpack. Not sure what you’d do with the suit once you get to the tree? Leave it on the ground, hoist it up into the tree with you, or just continue wearing it for the duration of your hunt. Deer don’t know that chickens aren’t six feet tall, or hang out up in trees, so you’ll be fine. Thank me later. (How many days until the season opens?)
