Do you take a youth to hunt on Private or Public land?
  • Private Land
  • Public Land
  • Both

Both, depends on the situation and the experience level and temperment of the youth. My goal is to get the youth addicted to hunting..... so you want them to harvest something. I also think we are really doing a dis-service to many of our new or young hunters by introducing them immediately to big game. I say start them on small game (squirrels, rabbits, grouse, pheasants, ducks, crows, predators) and watch how they interact with game and their patience level. It really depends a lot on the kid and your goals in my opinion.

I take my kids on public during small game season...

I don't have any private but that probably better...u can have a feeder set up and drive most of the way

#1 complaint from the kids on public is "my legs are tired"
