Man, it's been for----ever!!!! I've taken a few year vacation from pretty much all hunting. I've not looked at it nor paid any attention to anything new in the industry besides killing a moose last fall. I'm gaining the itch of possibly dabbling back in trail cams after selling about 30 several years ago.

Cell cams have my interest. I've read alot of good on ridgetec. Any experiences? Also how is the reconyxs amd brownings?

What's your thought on the iowa ban since you live there? I see it as a positive for the state

Holy crap! Look what the cat dragged in! lol. How you been bud? I haven't seen you on here since just after I showed up. Always got a chuckle from your posts. Oh yeah, cameras. I have been using the Spypoint Flex cell cams with pretty good luck but also have read quite a few complaints with them online so????

I never did run very many cameras so it won't bother me much. I did think it gave you some advantage, how much? I am not sure. I have shot some deer that I got on camera but more that I never had on camera.
As far as the specific rule I have not looked up the specific language, but something to the effect of "cannot leave them overnight" is a pretty chicken s**t way of banning them on public without actually banning them. I am not sure how well it can be enforced either. Same as leaving tree stands up after season, the COs are not going around looking for them.
There are more pressing issues with wildlife management than the cell camera use. Decreasing hunter numbers, EHD, CWD, etc.
Time will tell if this rule makes any difference. I doubt much will actually change.
 
Thanks boys. Been a wild ride last few years since I hung it up. It's a real thing when a man needs peace in life and he gets to really looking for it.

I have 2 ridgetechs. they are great. About 5 years old, work perfectly. 12 lithium Batteries last a long time. I also have Exodus renders that are good. and I have 1 exodus rival which I like alot so far. No experience with the other brands you mentioned. Even though I love the ridgetechs, I probably wont spend that much per camera again. They were 400 when i got mine, they came down a year or two ago to about 300. Sorry to hear about the moose incident.
 
In the cell cam arena, I don't think there's any competition to the tactacams. Running my 4 years now and as good as the day I bought em
