but not by me :disappointed:

I have been hunting this buck hard this year and missed my one shot at him in late October when I didn't make it to the woods because of work and I ended up having a picture of him on the scrape I was planning on hunting an hour before dark.

My wife sent me this pic yesterday with a message that said "sorry to ruin your morning". This is a picture of my neighbor (removed him from pic) posing with "My" buck. I am happy for my neighbor, he is a family friend but, disappointed at the same time. This means both bucks from my hit list have been taken (my father harvested the other one earlier this month). It's going to be a little harder getting out of bed at 4 am knowing this buck isn't in the woods anymore.

I completely sympathize. I've been babysitting my kids this entire month due to personal reasons and a great friend of mine shot a 151" 12 pointer from my tree. It's painful but at least it was someone we knew right???

I keep telling myself that. Part of me wishes it was someone I didn't like, then I could be mad. Oh well. The bright side is there are a few spots I have been wanting to hunt in different areas but, I have been stuck on this buck. Now I can give them a try.

That's always a bummer! It's happened to me a bunch the last few years. Just gotta keep going and it will eventually work out!

JMO. Don’t get discouraged i have found that other buck and sometimes bigger take over the territory of bucks that have been harvested. Just because a deer has a bigger set of bone on his head doesn’t mean he’s the dominate buck. I’ve seen smaller rack more aggressive bucks run bigger rack bucks off. It’s more of an attitude then horn size. Don’t give up totally on the spot

I harvested my very first B&C buck with these same circumstances!!! I had heard someone arrowed one I had finally gotten daylight pics on that I was after so I went to my other farm. This deer was on trail cam once. The morning that I shot him (I got him in the evening).

Wow! Awesome buck. That story and picture just made it a little easier to get out of bed Saturday morning. Thanks.

Good luck and keep us posted!!!
