He did a good job on my first deer and so I went back to him this year. It was a nightmare that ended with the deer coming in the right pose/wrong direction. Maybe not a big deal but at that cost you should get what you asked for. This is just me venting below.
The writing was on the wall:
1. Never contacted me after the butcher sent the cape - I went to his shop 2 months later
2. He wrote down my order on a sticky note because his wife "does the paperwork" and he didn't have any order forms.
3.Said she'd cal for down payment and to confirm - never did.
4. He texted me 3-4x stating he lost my phone number and wanted to verify it was me.
5. Asked me what I wanted again via text.
6. promised the deer in Nov. Asked him status in Dec and he said he'd have it to me in the guaranteed 14 months (on the form I never filled out) in Feb.
7. Asked me when I was coming to pick it up even though he never told me it was ready. Acted as if it was bothering him that I hadn't picked it up.
8. No set hours - had to beg him to pick it up, and he couldn't give me his a availability farther than the day of.
9. Father in law gets deer while I'm out of town - wrong direction so now I have two mounts looking left.
As far as work goes he's talented but he can't run a business and has no customer service, and he did 300 black bears this year...
