How often does Tethrd offer discounts? I know I just missed the Fathers Day one, but hoping they might run one for 4th of July? Hoping to get into the saddle hunting game but with exchange+shipping to Canada I might have to take out a mortgage haha

As a fellow canuck I'd say take a look at the classified section here. Lots of good equipment at a fraction of the price. Tethrds shipping to Canada is ridiculous. I was just talking with a buddy today and he spent almost as much in shipping as he did for a brand new phantom, two pouches, line mans belt, and tether. Spend some time and you will find a much better deal here.

yea.... mine was 140$ USD (192$ CND) currently for shipping to Canada, then another 120$ CND in duties once it got here.
I emailed them and asked if duties were supposed to be included cause that price was insane.... specially for how light its supposed to be...
I've ordered a ton of things from the US, many things a higher price tag, much larger and much heavier and this was the most expensive shipping I've seen out of all my purchases, quite a few companies offer duties included and ive had the case where they forgot to mark it properly when shipping and got charged for duties again and they credited the amount afterwards, so fingers were crossed!
and in reply just got a generic :

"Any import taxes or duties imposed on orders are the customer's responsibility. I would suggest reaching out to the courier service to determine any brokerage fees due upon delivery. I would also suggest reaching out to your country's customs agency to determine the import taxes for that package"

and they were kind enough to give me the tracking number (as if i wasn't already watching and checking for updates every moment waiting for it to come in already)... which did nothing but make me regret the purchase lol
as in my email i said i already paid the duties so i don't quite see how reaching out to ask if they have any more fees for me will help... but never know haha

first climb yesterday and was pretty disappointing in the comfort, new so maybe im completely using it wrong!?
but as @floydfreak mentioned id definitely look around here before buying one new from their site, but i have a feeling i should have went with a cruzr

It's not common knowledge but tethrds internernational shipping policy is actually quite progressive. Their packages board a dragon space shuttle to be hand delivered to the international space station. From there a Google super computer computes the exact trajectory need to deliver your space package director down your chimney.

The real magic actually happens at night when a team of tethrd elves breaks into your house and sets up a Christmas tree in your living room with lights, ornaments and a train set that delivers hot chocolate. Your packages is loving places under the tree so when you wake up you get a true Christmas in june. Honestly worth every penny if you ask me.

All joking aside if you want to do this as cheap as possible I have a sit drag that @Flee was kind enough to give me for the cost of shipping. If you're interested and can get your hands on a cheap rock climbing harness I will gladly send you the sit drag for the cost of shipping as well.

I had my phantom and H2 shipped USPS. Super slow. No duty
$26 US. Risky. The post office can lose it. If I get duty from USPS. It is gst plus a small brokerage fee from Canada Post. Maybe $10.
UPS. Brokerage fees are around 30 % plus gst. A rip off
I asked Tethrd to ship it USPS. . The original quoted cost was nutty to say the least.

I‘ll agree with you on the snakes, gators and heat, but not on the bugs. Black flies are worse than any gator or snake. And the skeeters up there are awful. We have an understanding with our skeeters.....when it gets below 70° they disappear, when the wind blows even a little they disappear, when the sun is out they disappear.......y’all’s don’t play by those rules.

Skeeter and black flies are no different than central Michigan farm country here. Not bad in deer season. Not nice now. Beyond farm country the skeeter and black flies are worse especially in the spring. I expect a Florida swamp is worse for skeeters.

I hunted turkeys in May with permethrin and a therma cell no issues even in a swamp. Black flies are a northern thing in the spring mostly.

We sure are off topic. The duty and dollar are all because of True dope. This is what kills our shipping and saddle costs. Under Harper our dollar was higher, because we exported more oil. True Dope is on the way to turning Canada into a Venezela or maybe an Argentina.

Thanks for all of the replies! Ya I’ll definitely keep an eye out for some used options. After doing some more research and advice from someone on FB saddle group, I might opt for a Crüzr anyways. Seems ultra comfortable! I suspect I won’t be finding any of those used any time soon haha.
As for the bugs, Ontariofarmer knows what’s up. There’s worse things than bugs. It was snowing when I shot my deer and -27°C when I shot my moose last fall.. not a lot of bugs around then! Haha

@Ontariofarmer Where are you getting permethrin!?!? i've looked all over, can find treated clothes but no treatment!

Sorry. Off topic. But I will answer it.
TSC in Orangeville or even Canadian tire would likely have it in an aerosol fly spray containing permethrin and CTC also sells thermacells which use permethrin.
I have sawyers I picked up in the states a few years ago. I think sawyers permethrin cannot be sold in Canada to be sprayed on clothes. Why? It is a carcinogen if you drink it. I have seen a few fly sprays that only use permethrin in Canadian farm stores.
I think when I run out of my Sawyers I will look for fly sprays that contain only permethrin to use only on my clothes.
I would not spray it on my skin.

This is fly spray from coop
