After not seeing deer on private land for a week straight I decided to go check out a tiny 10 acre piece of public I haven’t had the chance to scout. Walked in just past the safety zone on onX and I hear a blow and see asses. Well this seems like just the spot so I start my god awful setup and start up the tree. At this stage of my saddle hunting career if I’m up the tree in 45 minutes I’m setting records. Well about 2 sticks up I here a squirrel so I keep moving up then the squirrel keeps getting closer so I turn and there’s a doe 15 yards away staring at me. As we lock eyes I could see the pity that 70# doe had on me. Twenty minutes later and I’m finally up just in time for every deer in the woods to dip out.

On the way out I found a good scrape with a good track dead center in the middle and something else’s spooked, can’t wait for Monday morning so I can slide back in there!!
