Shot yesterday in Morgan Co Ohio.

Lots of reports of daylight movement of sizable bucks and I have seen some trail evidence from some to confirm.

I hope it is my turn in the next few days.

Good one. I drive a tanker all day. When i start seeing bucks plastered on roads and bucks running across fields its time. Today i saw quite a few but its still not prime time in nj.

Thats a nice buck!

I agree, things are picking up here in NJ because I'm seeing lots more dead deer the past week but I'm sure we're not near the peak.

T-minus one week and counting for me. Temps are looking cool. I'm sighted in!

And nice buck!

To be clear. That isn't mine. A property that I could have hunted this time last year. Friend sells land and sold this piece to this guy.

Another beauty was killed last night less than 10 miles from three properties I can hunt. I will bounce over to Tapatalk and post that one.

I am 5 hunts in and I haven't seen a deer yet!!! Today the reports are of little movement. A few does seen by friends here but the whole "sharing community" hasn't checked in yet so maybe there was more than that. The scrape I hunted over tonight was freshly hit, probably this morning when I was walking to my stand and found someone 20 yards away on another property so turned around and went back to bed!!!

Wow that is a monster. Feel free to continue sharing photos! :D

Go West, young man. Go West!

Start driving now. By sun up I can put you on a brand new to be hunted 55 acres of nasty bedding area surrounded by farm land.

Just saw it today and it screams big OH buck. It is without a doubt the bedding area. There are two nice open spots. One is over the only water flowing water in the area. And the other is under the 50+ year Oak in the middle of the thick stuff.

I'm here, bro and I can't hunt them all!!!!

So, so tempting... and if I catch my wife in a good moment I just might ask....

and I might just be on my way to you shortly because she either kicked me out or felt so bad for me and let me go

They're definitely starting to move here in upstate NY. I've been seeing more bucks on my nightly drive abouts. I put in for vacation starting the second week of November. Then a couple weeks ago my sister and mom call and say they all want to come up and visit... THE SECOND WEEK OF NOVEMBER! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Wow.
Both those deer are bigger than anything I've ever seen in person.
I think the deer in sc are getting bigger, (or at least the ones I see) but we aren't known for trophy racks in the upstate. With that said, there are a handful taken here that measure 140+. I've never seen one on my property though. Maybe the eight pointer I've been chasing this year and last year might break 100. Maybe

I hunted in NC before moving back to OH. TONS of deer. But coming back here, dude it is nuts.

I have at least 4 properties I can hunt (when I can actually get there) that all have more than one Pope and Young buck. Just a different game. Shoot a 5 1/2 year old that doesn't even make P&Y in some states... that takes more skill than killing a 3 1/2 year old that makes P&Y here. It's just bone. It's the brain, eyes, nose that you have to beat.

We should NOT congratulate guys for killing big antlered bucks. We should congratulate the buck for being 'well hung'. We should applaud a guy who can kill a mature deer - buck or doe by getting them within effective archery range and killing them cleanly. The deer's genes don't make you a hunter - his age and fair chase hunting does.

Ain't that the truth. I've taken a doe (about 90 lbs- maybe three years old) and a (accidentally bow shot while shooting at old doe in September) a yearling buck with my bow this year. The September doe- missed- hit - too- young - buck was with my Martin saber recurve and the old doe was with compound.
I got so excited today after work I was able to go out and saw my first shooter buck (an eight point that I've been after for a couple years). It was so strange, I decided that since I was late getting home I'd hunt a fairly easily accessible two track that I've seen lots of activity nearby. I know I've heard from people that the bucks are starting to chase, (and I have over 1000 pictures of does and only three pics with antlers on my property this year) so I didn't wanna scent up or spook deer going to my set ups that I plan to hunt in a week and a half when I have a few days off.
I climbed up this small (maybe eight inches diameter) cedar up to about twenty feet and I can shoot to three spots in three directions. Everywhere except to my south west side which was fine because wind is out of north east. I forgot my wind checker to make sure I wasn't catching any funky currents so I sprayed one pump doe p . I settled in and about five minutes later I grunt called. A few minutes later I hear a horrible crashing through the brush coming from my downwind side. That eight pointer I've been after was running full speed directly toward me from exactly downwind. He sprinted across the two track without slowing as I called to him and just kept going. Did he smell the doe p? Was he running from some other hunter trespassing (I'm the only one with permission to hunt my property and the neighbor's which all together are only about forty acres, but bordered on that side by a couple hundred acres of hunt club lease)who knows? But I'm excited. That was the first buck I've seen from a tree this season and I know that now that the rut is upon us, all the does on my property will be entertaining their male guests.
And I'll be waiting
