All,

Below is the trail camera mount I use when screwing to the tree is acceptable:

Below is a receipt for the materials to make 6 mounts:

This type of mount is very adjustable, and will last years in the elements due to the stainless steel construction. The one in the pics above is just over 3 years old! I bought some new cams and needed more mounts so I decided to share. I really like this attachment better than straps for private land and public where legal!

Yes great design, another I copied from @bowhunter15 youtube video (
). I spray paint mine up to hide them better. I also beefed up the i bolt that goes into the tree, I was bending them all removing them after growing in the tree for a while.

I also use the same design with two woodscrew eyebolts to hang brush, to brush in stands or cameras.

I use a similar one. Works great!

Yep, I use the same thing. They work great, and last forever.
I use a nylon locking nut instead of the Wing but though. Get some tension on it, and it won’t back off. I had issues a couple times with the Wing but not holding well through temp changes.

Do you use nylon lock nuts in place of both of the wing nuts?

No, just the larger one supporting the joint.

I have the commercially available option and they are way to pricey. How do your diy ones fair with screwing into trees?

I haven't made any of these yet but soon. I imagine it's helpful to have a screwdriver or a crescent wrench along to help turn it into the tree.

I’ve only had one issue over the last 3 years of a camera moving due to a raccoon climbing on it. I only hand tighten them...never saw the need to use a wrench etc. You can really tighten the wing but pretty well!
