I recently bought a large neoprene tree saddle. After first using a mod sit drag. I couldnt find the sit drag comfortable. Tree saddle is way more comfortable. First mod i know im going to do it cut off the elastic suspenders and put tool belt on. I find the 2 in webbing bridge hard to slide in my carabiner.has anyone replaced the webbing with rope? I also think i should have a medium instead of large. Im only 5'7 150lbs. But the biggest problem is i cant twist in it and i think its due to the bridge. Any insight would be great. Also do you guys think the aerohunter is better than the saddle for shoot ability? Thanks!

I never liked the webbing bridge on my TL. I experience the same rotation issues as you. I'm sure there's a way to mod it with a rope bridge. However, I haven't looked back since finding the SD. If you want to sell your SD, I'm your man.

you may even need a small for TL saddle. They run pretty big.

I'm 6'2" 220 and use a medium mesh, until its cold enough to put the bibs on then I switch to the large neoprene.

If you cant tighten the belt enough for it to stay up walking without suspenders, its big on ya.

Not the end of the world, just have to deal with suspenders.

As far as a rope bridge, just make one with a carabiner on each end and hook the carabiners up to your lineman belt loops.
The saddle being on the larger side should actually help in doing this since the belt loops will be in front of your hips instead of off to the sides.
(use real climbing rope and carabiners....nothing from home depot etc)

I'm your size and use a small for most of the year. When it got real cold I could use a medium.

I agree on sizing, you would need at least a medium.

How big is the opening on your carabiner? A larger opening might help. There's a recent thread on here with a few options. Also you can try rubbing some paraffin wax into the bridge, it should help slick it up. If you do this on all the webbing it will help prolong the life.

Okay i am going to try a rope bridge tied onto the linesman loops And see how that works. With the belt cinched all the way tight it still is very big and no way i could walk without it falling down. I got the hunters safety system carabiners from gander mtn. There aluminium and pretty big. I didnt try to wax the strap yet. I will keep a lookout for a medium tree saddle that possibly somebody will want a large instead. Seems more people are in search of mediums than larges though. It will probably be easier and same price to just buy a size 1 aero. Is the aero just as comfortable as a tree saddle?

Thinking how big it is on you, I imagine the ends of your bridge are closing up in front you under pressure.
So instead of a triangle shape, you're strap bridge is turning into more of a single tether.

I think the aero is more comfortable because it is adjustable.
