Trespassers on private land. Need some ideas!

If you are going to use cell cam, I would buy an equal number of the cheapest regular cams I could find and set them as dummy cams. Set them at normal height and not too well hidden. Point an elevated cell cam at the dummy. Take every thing in the trailer out that you dont want burned and leave nothing of value at the property.

My first thought was to start trapping for "coyotes," but I guess it's not the dogs' fault.

This thread just makes me glad I don't hunt in a state where deer hunting with dogs is legal.

put up warning signs saying your trapping with snares and and bear traps for coyote an nuisance species. Not responsible for injured pets. Maybe that will deter ? I like the electric fence idea. Or maybe get a big dog and a gps collar that keeps him on perimeter. Then put warning signs about dog all over. Get insurance as you’ll need it if he bites anyone or thing. But not sure a dog who attacks a trespassing dog warrants any legal issues... not the expert.

there are respectable people and there are jerks. Sadly this happens with the gun dog groups on Virginia. I support a half dozen dogs hunting wide open space, but not a dozen or more dogs hunting small property and running around everywhere. That is rude and they will lose there rights soon enoughif they keep ticking people off.

Hunting dogs are heavily protected here. As much as I dont like it, I understand they have been hunting this way here since the founding fathers have been around. Its a polorizing subject here and many people hate the style of hunting. there are some really good hunt clubs here and the guys local to my house are great. They are respectful and stop to help people in need mid hunt.

These guys in buckingham well, there may be some good ones but I have seen more then my share of ones that give all hunters a bad name. For years I have said even though I dont like dog hunting for deer I would stand beside them to protect their right to hunt..... After the last couple of years that has changed. Its a situation where they become their own worst enemies.

same boat - used to argue for them but so many have ruined it and it’s just jerks being jerks. So I’ll vote to ban it if it ever comes around. Seeing it’s a Democratic controlled state, only a matter of time.

That would cost a fortune to fence in 30 acres.
I guess it depends on what you consider a fortune. 30 acres is around 4600 linear feet, field fence is $200 for 330 ft. So around $2800 for fence and $1600 for posts plus another couple hundred for wire and wire ties.

That is a good chunk of money and the lowest possible price. The lot is not a square,so the perimeter is longer.
I dont think that will work anyway as that group sounds like the kind of guys that would cut the fence anyway.
