Turkey plaque

An antler skull cap wood mount base works good for the tail legs and beard. Just flip it the other way or upside down to accentuate the legs as the antlers would be the normal way if that makes sense.

I've always used about a 10-12" round, and mount it with folded over felt and ornamental tacks... I'm partial to a tree cross-section/disc, although I have some sanded/routed plaques as well.

I think I'm more partial to stainless steel or metal and wood combo
An idea that maybe I can explain so it makes sense. Take a nice straight forearm size sapling trunk and cut it 5.5-6'. Slot the top to insert the fan. Weld the brass from the shell to a piece of small enough rod that you could cut the spurs off and slide onto the rod. Hot melt glue the beard into the brass. Drill a hole into the saplin and insert the rod with the beard and spurs. Mount to a wall in the man cave and keep adding spurs and beards until its full.

I'm not sure I 100% follow....but whatever I end up making I do want it to be added on to like u talking about....I'm fine with just 1 fan with the ability to add more beards and spurs....I don't think my wife would like lots of fans all over. (Hahaha..."lots" of fans.....I'm getting little ahead of myself)

What I am talking about would just be one fan, then adding the beard and spurs like little limbs on the trunk.

It's a prototype for sure....i need to modify my cut file and add a couple things to make it easier and take away a couple things.

I'm gonna look at home in the garage for some wood before I try to shape that other piece with the bark on it. I think I got some walnut long/wide enough

If somebody wanted to make a diy turkey plaque what are some good rough dimensions and designs?View attachment 103340
This is a simple way I mount turkey tails. Cut out 3 inch circle of half inch pine. Put screw thru middle circle, squishes beard under the wood cutout.

That is some paint brush beards on that wall sir, Congrats. I’ve got a pile of them just laying in a box and the fans are staked in the garage. Just haven’t hung them.

Thanks! I lost several beards stacked in an old shed of mine. Mice chewed them up. Dirty Bs love the beards. You better protect those beards!
Take care.
