Upgrade Hawk Helium to Versa Button

I have searched the archives for a “how to” on DIY versa button. Lots of articles but no “how to” to be found.

I have three un-modified Hawk Heliums. They have the bracket to hold strap with a clip on the other end.

How do I replace this bracket with just a DIY Versa button?

What size bolt (grade 8)? Length and size?
What size washer?
What size spacer?

I plan to use either a Amsteel chain or strap only with the DIY versa button.
