I mean it’s already expensive enough but go ahead and replace all your hunting ropes after each use if it makes you feel better. You could probably make a killing in the classifieds with “used only once tethers”

That’s not what I’m saying. All I’m saying is that I wouldn’t use my tether to hang something that you shouldn’t be hanging. That’s all. You’re making it sound like I think that you you should be constantly replacing them. Hell they say that you should be replacing your harness every 5 years. How long has it been since they made the old summit seat of the pants? I still use that because I can’t find a newer one that’s configured the way that I need it to be. But I check it to make sure that it’s in good condition.

in construction anytime that you use a lifeline for something like that it has to be taken out of service as a lifeline and can't be used again as a lifeline. your life depends on that line. just saying

I just dont see how using a pulley to hang a deer is any worse on a rope than SRT climbing on it...
