Well Boys & Girls, The Velvet's Coming Off....

This years? Doesn’t strike me as fresh. I’d have to peel some bark back and compare the color.

They’re dropping velvet here as well. I usually see the first big ones around the 15th.

I saw two twin 6pt’s in a field last week, one was hard horn and one was velvet still.

Shavings at the base, it’s fresh. What area/state are you in?

It was fresh alright. I've got afew pictures of a couple of the smaller bucks with hard antlers but most of the bigger ones are still in velvet.

Here are some pictures of a few taken within the last 2 weeks above 10 yards from thr rub.

Disregard the dates on the photos, I changed the batteries before setting the camera out and like a bone head, forgot to reset the dates.

I know they’re out of velvet....just not convinced the rub is new......looks like a cherry which shines up pretty bright and usually a little sappy.

Shavings at the base mean nothing.....I can take a pic of a dozen that still have piles from last year.

I got a few pictures of deer still in velvet last week but all of the 2.5+ year olds I have been getting on camera had rubbed out by 8/30. I usually start my season next weekend with bucks still in their summer patterns. I’m getting pictures now of bucks I haven’t seen this year and the ones I was getting on camera every day headed to peanuts have disappeared. Right now I have lost a couple seven points but gained a 9 and an 8. The first pic I had of a deer in hard horns was 8/27

This guy peeled a few days ago. The other good bucks around still are in, but I imagine it'll come off soonScreenshot_20190909-071443_SPYPOINT LINK.jpg

Brothers from another mother! Those weird ones are always the ones you remember and luckily if i see this big 3 i can take him. I think it would be a sweet euro mount.

Good luck, knock him down! I had him 15 yards one morning, just had to watch him go by. We're on a 3 point rule here and he didnt have a 3rd point on that forked side or he would of been in trouble. Youths can shoot a buck with no restrictions, but he never came out in front of any of my nephews. I think it'd be a sweet euro! And he's clearly an old mature buck
