Just wondering what everyone is carrying in their pack? Early season vs late season. Essentials vs. extras etc.. Always looking to learn and see what everyone else does.

Always: clothes layers, pullup rope, water, saddle/harness, knife, screw in bow hanger, milkweed

Most times: folding saw, rangefinder, game bags, gloves, extra/ warmer hat, neck gaiter, extra t-shirt, rain gear, binos.

Occassional: trail cams, food, grunt calls, rattle bag, bleat call, turkey call, Inreach

TP, compass, GPS, and release are in my pockets.

Basic survival "Ten Essentials" Gear
TP - multi purpose item! Good to test blood trails and mark blood trails. Plus the usual use.
Map & compass, knife, 550 cord, water, food, First Aid Kit, fire kit, contractor garbage bag, signal mirror, whistle, orange bandana or shemagh, notepaper and pen.

Hunting specific
rangefinder, binos (I'm trying a monocular this year to cut some weight), xbow, bolts, climbing stand (waiting on a Mantis!), tether, harness, folding saw, hand warmers, sniper veil, gloves, neck warmer, hat

Always - water, kill, kit, compass, license, saddle stuff (tethers, belts, ameristeps, y'all know the drill)

Sometimes - snacks (cheese sticks, hard boiled eggs, peanuts) extra clothes, white trail tacks, limb saw

I'm a minimalist I guess.

One item everyone should add to their kit is a CAT Tourniquet they are cheap to buy weigh hardly anything and can be the difference between life or death if you need one.

One item I carry in my kill kit is some small pieces of reflective material for marking "stuff". They work great to identify the site of the hit, last blood, etc. Of course, this is for nighttime activities. A small piece of material tied to a branch, is vis able with a headlamp from great distances.

Double duty - your tether or linemans belt also make a great tourniquet - actually thought about this the other day playing with gear. Good thought

Can’t recommend the TP enough! I’ve sacrificed many a good pair of underwear as a substitute b/c I forgot to refill my supply.

Always:
Water, snacks, rubber gloves, grunt call,
Rattle bag, skinning knife, survival knife, paracord, pull-up rope, camo face paint, wind checker, bow hangers, headlamp w/extra batteries

Early season extras:
Thermocell

Late season extras:
Extra layers, extra gloves, hand warmers, hunter orange (if gun seasons are in), neck gator (makes a world of difference on those cold, windy days)

Situational:
Limb saw (if not hunting a preset stand), camera, camera arm if hanging or tripod if in ground blind

There are a few things mentioned here that I didn’t think of. I guess it’s time for me to re-inventory my pack and make some adjustments. Thanks for the tips!
