who hoists and who hauls

Presets i will just climb away with gear. When spurring I will hoist. My system has always been based on efficiency and simplicity so its some simple cord with 2 carabiners one for the bow one for the bag, one time up and done.

I usually wear my saddle to the tree along with a backpack. I carry my bow in hand and when I get to my tree I throw my bow up to a pre-hung bow holder where it lands gingerly. Next I climb up, tether, shoot a giant, call a buddy, climb down, find it, gut it, ( save the heart) drag it, homeward bound where I immediately put the heart in salt water for 6 hours. Cut into strips and fry with peppers and onions. Delicioso!!!!!!!

I will have to try the heart part

I use a doyle hoist and am thinking of trying a grapple.

I've got the hunter safety system hoist. Super company and will coop to molle loops.

For those that use a grappling hook. Can you show some pics of what you use? It links to where you got them?

I hoist with some 550 cord. If you wrap it correctly (overlapping figured 8s) it wont tangle on you.
I usually wear my pack up the tree and hoist my bow but if the ground is clear around my tree I will sometimes tie my pack about 6-8' up the rope from my bow and hoist them both up with one rope pull.
The first time I let it go I will probably start using a grappling hook.

On second thought I am heading to the junk pile to make a dadgum hook today...
