So I've noticed as it gets colder, starting to get into the 40s on sits, that I'm having issues with draft up the bottom of my coat. I have good warm weather clothes, and I've got an iwom for when it gets cold, but I'm in my midrange gear.

My iwom is in a winter predator camo, so my question is, what are your thoughts on using a camo pattern with white in it when there isnt snow yet?

I'm not terribly concerned with camo patterns tbh, but I do wear clothes that are natural or neutral colored.

I say go for it, especially hunting up in trees. Inevitably you're back lighted or skylined unless you're in a hemlock or some very dense cover but this type of camo imho really breaks up the human form the most effectively. I do have snow camo and I know of a guy who consistently takes big deer from treestands out of PA who uses it year round. I would think this type of pattern or ASAT or the open Predator or Natural Gear patterns would be similar in effect.

I say go for it, especially hunting up in trees in areas where you will be skylined. As the leaf drop progresses and even now, look up and inevitably you see tons of patches of white sky, so when you're up in a tree and depending on the perspective of the deer below you.... you're back lighted or skylined in certain positions even in that one tree unless of course you're in a hemlock or some very, very dense cover but this type of camo imho really breaks up the human form the most effectively. I do have snow camo and I know of a guy who consistently takes big deer from treestands out of PA who uses it early season through. A lot of his set ups are in thin cover strips between larger tracks of woods and so he doesn't have alot of background cover and he is very effective. I would think this type of pattern or ASAT or the open Predator or Natural Gear patterns would be similar in effect if you didn't want to actually use snow camo in September. Last year I carried it in and used it quite often once at HH when I was hunting in trees where there wasn't a lot of background cover. Deer that went by didn't have a clue I was there. It is just a snow camo top that fits over your regular camo and is always there if you need it if you find a spot without a lot of background cover.

Take a selfie of yourself next time you’re in predator camo with the trees/ skyline behind you. Play with black and white and other filters on your phone. It sounds dumb but sold me on open patterns.

my friend still uses his Skyline camo and man I like the pattern alot....to bad its tough to find
I remember telling my Dad about it 35 years ago. He said "there's no way that stuff will work" I tried it and it worked. I was a kid then so I out grew it. However now I use Stick's N Limb's winter camo. Very effective. I once had another hunter follow my boot tracks in the snow to my tree. At 20 yds he looked and looked and looked some more. He never saw me!
