I am wondering what stick would be better. I currently have 4 different climbing options

1. 32" XOP stick (nearly #4 each)
I have 4 of these

2. 32" Leverage (#2.5 each)
I have 4 of these

3. 17" Leverage (1lb 10oz)
I have 8 of these

4. Wild edge steps
I have 16 of these

I will be using an aider on every stick used, (single aider I move up) so the climbing ability will be a little more than that.

My platform will me ameristeps. I felt like the wild edge were the way to go, but I feel that sticks would be far better due to not having to manage as much stuff.

Are you using factory straps and cam buckles....?
If so; I think I would try the rope mod with LW versa button on your 17" Leverage sticks 3-4 of them, tie a single step aider that hangs from the top step so you could keep advancing it up as you climb. (DaveT's method)...

I use the WE Stepps - I have 16 but with the redsquirrel aider I only need to carry 7 in. 5 are to climb and last two are platform around last stepp. Some sits I only use 6 when I do not need the extra height. So my total weight is 7# and it is so compact. Not as fast as sticks but cannot beat weight and small profile plus it is very quiet. Setting the 3 stepps as platform can take time to get how you want and stable for side pressure - that part for me is where I get slowed down. I don't have sticks but may look for some in off season. I wanted to get halfway proficient with the stepps this season first. Definitely will be looking to get bolts or screw ins for presets

I am using all amsteel stuff. All Versa buttons and rope. Super quick and super quiet! I am going to take in the 4 sticks with the single aider (DaveT stype)

Next season I plan to try the EZ cut hand drill and bolts. Another tool for long hikes as my sticks with aiders are a pita to carry in. I also like the idea of less profile on the tree to attract attention to my location. There was a discussion about aiders moving in the wind and being picked off by deer. My observations have been similiar and may sell the Muddy pros and rely on presets with rod steps, bolts, and spikes for remote spots. My kayak gets pretty crowded at times, and less bulk is going to be top priority for 2018.

I think the bolts would be awesome, if they were legal for me to do so! I think a pair of climbing spurs would be so so good, but again, not legal where I hunt.

Let me know if you plan on getting rid of the muddy pro steps. I would definitely be interested in them. I would consider trading some for them(either stepps or even possibly ameristep strap on steps).
