Saw a thread in the vendor access area, but I didn't have access to post in there and I have lots of questions. I'm relatively new to deer hunting (bagged two doe last gun season for my first two hunts), and going to archery hunt this year. I understand how much controlling your scent plays in to a successful hunt, but I am a virgin to the attractant and cover scent world. That being said, I'm a gear junkie so I bought the Wyndscent 2.0 last night along with their Sanctuary (bedding area) and Seduction (doe estrus) cartridges. I theorized using the Sanctuary pre and post rut as a simple cover scent and Seduction during the rut to hopefully attract my target buck (big bruiser ten point with a thick, beautiful rack).
Do any of you have any experience using the Wyndscent or any vaporized scents? I've seen some guys on here love scents and some don't believe in them. Oftentimes I'll check my wind once I'm on my hunting grounds and hit the stand that works best for that wind, and about 20 minutes after I'm there, my wind flips on me. Also, the property I hunt all slopes downward in to a creekbed, so I know thermals are pulling my scent down the ridge to the bottom. I figured I could utilize the Wyndscent to cover my scent should I be in the tree and have the wind flip on me to the point that where I'm hunting no longer make sense. I'm not relying on it to compensate for poor scent control and hunt planning (at least, I hope).
Furthermore, I have been coyote hunting for years now, and I wish Wyndscent would release some scents that would get the dogs going! I'd love to pair calling with scents. Seems to me like a coyote hearing a distress call paired with that animal's scent would be pretty irresistible. Thoughts?
