XOP Platforms and Stick Talons?

Has anyone found a good configuration for attaching stick talons to an XOP platform?

I mounted 4 talons on the bottom of the platform but I worry the batwings will dig into my back while climbing the tree. If I mount them on the top, the talons take up valuable real estate and could be a tripping hazard.

Any ideas are appreciated!
